Dance India Dance 13 February 2009 Mumbai Mega Auditions - Dancing to the steps of Toby

The Mega auditions at Mumbai started with high powered song and western choreographed dance by Toby who has risen to fame through Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. The auditions were full of high drama some injuries and lots of awesome performances. Kamlesh Patel stood out to be the best participant, the handicapped dancer from Ahmedabad understood his shortcoming and accepted to move out of the show. That is the spirit!

dance_india_dance_geeta_kapoor.jpgThere were some foul moments when Pritam the handsome guy from Kolkatta was too caught up with himself and didn't let the choreography work for him. And the fake or genuine injury of Shubu Das that got him into top 50 but don't think will survive to get a feather in his cap. The Top 50 also show cased Mangesh Mangal who did a fantastic ballet adaptation on the song "naa jaane koi kaisi hai yeh zindagani" and Geetu Gambhir in another western style dance on "Afreen Afreen". The show is going to continue tomorrow and what needs to be seen is which of the two Prohit sisters get into the top 18. Sunita from Kolkotta is another gem waiting for her performance to air tomorrow.
