Dance India Dance 7 February 2009 Delhi Auditions - Hip Hop was the flavor of the city

The national Capital was all but tuned to Hip Hop dance style. It was great fun to watch the talents and imagine auditions to win 36 Topis. The dance styles of the contestants' spanned from Hip hop to contemporary to Indian classical.

dance_india_dance_pictures.jpgPriya Gupta did a wonderful contemporary dance form and Terrence agreed to coach her for Mega Final in Mumbai. Pankaj Sharma and Karan Chawla chose same song to dance and both got lucky with the judges. At last it was Sanjay Kohli who won the topi due to his flexibility and gracious movements. But it was Sonam in the end with her vivacious Indian dancing style that captured judges' fancy. Though there was more than just dance at the auditions it was spirit of a Woman Rashpal Kaur that was being celebrated. She is unable to see yet dances and is a martial arts expert. This is the true spirit of Delhi.

 

did_mithun_and_judges.jpg The mega selection of Dance India Dance is in Mumbai from next week where they are going to feather the cap of those who won the Takdeer Ki Topi in these regional auditions. It is going to be real tough since only 18 will be chosen to go further and be personally trained by the Tri Murti of Remo, Geeta and Terrance.
